Paintbox
by Mei Lin Ford

I made this paint box for my mum who is an avid ceramic artist. The horizontal shelves are used for tiny tubes of coloured powders, sponges, rags and other bits and pieces and the vertical pull-out compartment was designed to hold paint brushes.

The tambour or door that slides around a bend, is made from green bamboo and the handle is also bamboo – the aesthetic touches to an otherwise functional item.

Materials
QLD Walnut veneer with solid edging, bamboo tambour and handle
