Philip Boddington Design
I believe design should feature elements with a clear functional
purpose and display an appearance which honestly reflects the construction.
I enjoy work which is structurally dynamic, where the piece projects
the flow of support through it and has a sense of lightness, lift
and strength.
I like the attraction of a piece to highlight its form and the
natural beauty of the timber and I subscribe to the adage that
more is often less. I find natural structures which have been perfected
by evolution an inspiration and am attracted to organic forms.
I aim for high integrity in the pieces that I make and to ultimately
judge my work in a holistic sense against the requirements.
