Tall Boy Slide

This piece was for an exhibition and features slip matched Queensland walnut veneers in a more unusual cross band fashion on the sides and the 120 tambour slats of the front. The slender monolithic dimensions and seamless appearance combine to create a striking yet elegant piece.

The contrasting Queensland maple interior picks up on the flashes of pink in the walnut and is slowly revealed as the tambour glides upwards enhanced by a hidden mechanism which ensures smooth weightless operation.
