I have always been interested in designing or making. I started off studying at the National Art School, then design school, followed by Interior Design at UTS majoring in furniture design, before finishing up at Sturt School For Wood. It was at Sturt that I found my passion is to create beautiful one-off pieces of timber furniture.

I have been with Splinter since 2008, where I make unique pieces for my clients. I work with them directly, as well as with their architects and designers. Although I appreciate beautiful timbers and grains, my work is predominantly about considering the shape and form of a piece.

In my work I primarily seek to combine solid design with deliberate functionality. My secondary considerations are with the appropriate colour, weight and grain balance.

I also run fine woodworking courses at Splinter. The classes focus on preserving old woodworking techniques and the use of original handtools.
